How SenaraiHomestay works?

As a guest, Senarai Homestay simplifies your search for accommodations by bringing everything together on one platform. You won’t need to search for homestays one by one; instead, you can easily sort, compare, and directly contact hosts for booking. It makes the entire process much more convenient for you!

We’ve completed the Android version, but we haven’t released it yet. We plan to launch both Android and iOS versions simultaneously, likely by December or the end of this year, 2024.

To be clear, Senarai Homestay is not responsible for any issues that may arise, and we do not provide assurances for either hosts or guests. However, finding a homestay safely is easier than ever. We recommend visiting our blog for tips on safety and avoiding scams. 

But, we do conduct a thorough screening process for hosts before they join our platform as an initial safe precaution.

At the top of this page, you’ll find a search box where you can enter keywords related to your homestay. You can also use the top menu under the “Senarai” tab to search by map, making it easy to check the distance to your desired homestay.

For more accurate results, it’s best to use city names, and you can sort and check the location later. Additionally, you can select your preferred amenities to customize your search.

No, we only charge hosts a small annual fee. Any deposits or nightly rates are set directly by the host and charged accordingly.

Traditionally, it really depends on how you negotiate with the host or homestay owner. The same applies to the security deposit—whether it needs to be paid and the amount varies based on the host’s terms.

Actually, we do have a feature or label that indicates whether a homestay is pet-friendly. However, this feature is currently unavailable during our initial startup period. As our listings grow, we plan to make it available.

Senarai Homestay is a platform that allows hosts in Malaysia to list their properties. It simplifies business between guests and hosts, making it easier to connect and conduct business quickly.

To keep the business running, we’ve noticed that other platforms charge users a monthly or yearly fee while also relying on ads for revenue, which can cut into operational costs. There’s nothing wrong with that—platforms like YouTube and Facebook do it as well. 

We could apply the same principle, but running ads would complicate the user experience. Guests might struggle to reach your WhatsApp link for booking, as they would have to navigate through ads.

Instead, we aim to provide an ad-free experience. But still only hosts a per yearly basis, which is more affordable than what other platforms offer. Additionally, hosting many photos is essential for homestays, and storing these images on our server incurs significant costs, requiring a faster server to ensure quick loading times.

And of course, running ads on platforms like Facebook and Google will be one of our most significant expenses, alongside the costs of developing our Android and iOS apps. So we need everyone support both Guest and Host.

Of course not, ads are the backbone of any online business platform. However, we can guarantee that our ads will not pop up unexpectedly or disrupt your clicks or taps. 

For now, during this beta period—which we aim to extend until the end of 2024—we will pause all ads and sponsored content to focus on refining our design and ensuring that both guests and hosts find our platform easy to use.

You may have noticed that we offer two or more price tiers for different features and the number of listings you can add. Rergardless of what packages you are, all packages will active on our website for 365 days (one year). If you plan to pause for awhile or even stop your host, please let us know as soon as possible.

That is why, It’s very important for us to charge so that hosts feel responsible for their listings. About one month before a listing expires (after 365 days), hosts will receive a notification reminding them to update their listings annually. If they do not update within 30 days, or if their package reaches its limit, our system will automatically remove the listing.

So, we can keep our listing to most reliable and up to date. If not, host might forget where they promote their homestay before, even worse they even close their business already. That for sure will effect our listing perception with the guest.

No, we are primarily focused on the Malaysian market. While international guests from the Arab world, China, or Western nations may contact you, it’s entirely up to your business whether you choose to accept them. Most of Malay hosts may not accept international guests, but some Chinese hosts might. 

If this becomes a recurring issue, we can create a feature to help you manage it.

For now, we are at beta version. But our system already ready. You can just register, make a payment, wait for our approval. But if you are register before 2025. Please whatsapp support, directly to us so we can do it for you.

Because right now, we are still plan to design the layout of homestay details area, to define which one are easier for guest to understand it.

We do not offer booking services. Senarai Homestay is simply a platform where you can advertise your homestay. By registering with us, you can connect directly with guests seeking accommodations. Any arrangements beyond that are entirely up to you as the host and the guest.

Yes, we do have this feature available. We will make it accessible by the end of this year, 2024. By 2025, the system will surely be ready, InshaAllah.
